Farm News - 2010 Clip
What is a farm but a mute gospel? The chaff and the wheat, weeds and plants, blight, rain, insects, sun, -- it is a sacred emblem from the first furrow of spring to the last stack which the snow of winter overtakes in the fields."        - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Shearing Day!

Scott Young from Hilltop Alpacas will be coming on over bright and early Sunday morning to begin the rather ardous task of shearing almost 70 alpacas.  Friends and family will gather to help out on this yearly event.  They will help vacuum (yes, vacuum!) the alpacas, trim toenails, and collect fleece.  It's one heck of a tiring day, but we've got hundreds of pounds of beautiful fleece when we're don.  The alpacas are a bit happier and more comfortable too!
Please check back!

Our shearing day is Sunday, April 17, 2010.  Once we get all of the alpacas sheared, we'll share pictures, pounds and exactly what we're going to be doing with all the fleece with you.

Please look again sometime in late April.

For now, think spring and stay warm!
